		<title>A new concept in energy management</title>
		<description>

Elkay Electical&amp;rsquo;s innovative new range of switches, timers and detectors
offer both the opportunity to make significant savings on energy costs and
deliver increased functionality. All boast the ability to be installed in
existing buildings as a retrofit item or be incorporated into new build schemes,
providing a fast track route to substantial reductions in energy bills and
carbon emissions.

The unique 16amp switching capability allows the range to be utilised for the
control of lighting and a wide range of other power sources. Development of the
cost effective range means that energy saving is available to all commercial,
industrial and domestic customers without the need for large, expensive central
systems.

The energyrange comprises of three product categories: energysense - a highly
cost effective range of energy saving timers and sensors, energystyle - a
contemporary range of intelligent timers, sensors and fully programmable
lighting controls and energyoutdoor &amp;ndash; a range of timer controls and sensors
specifically adapted for exterior requirements.

&amp;ldquo;We are confident that the new energyrange offers the most innovative
products in the market today,&amp;rdquo; commented Duncan McKinlay, Managing Director of
Cable Management Products Limited. &amp;ldquo;This development has been driven by our
many years of experience in energy management.&amp;rdquo;

&amp;ldquo;As well as offering the very best in terms of aesthetics, energy management
and usability, the energyrange affords retrofit capability and can be used to
upgrade existing systems easily. During the development, we have applied for
several patents for new technologies and a wide range of new features, including
the unique method of switching 16 amp current regardless of load type - a market
first for time delay switches.

&amp;ldquo;All have been developed with the benefit of Elkay&amp;rsquo;s unrivalled expertise at
the forefront of electrical manufacturing. Established over 80 years ago and now
an ISO9000 and ISO4001 accredited company, Elkay&amp;rsquo;s new range is the culmination
of extensive research into new technologies and consumer requirements. Tested
and certified to BSEN60669, the range offers unique features and increased
functionality to the highest design specifications.&amp;rdquo;

Range overview
The entire range boasts over 60 products that offer
advanced electronic pushbutton, touch, PIR and remote timers. The units are
finished in a clean white as standard with a chrome plate option, with the
exception of energystyle, which feature contemporary stainless steel flush
plates. These new devices incorporate &amp;lsquo;smart&amp;rsquo; electronics, including backlit
blue rings for ease of location, red LED operational indicators and an
intelligent power search facility that eliminates re-setting in the event of a
power cut.

The energysense range incorporates timer switches from the Columbus&amp;reg;
push-button pneumatic timer through to a new series of electronic and remote
timers, with a full range of options.

Energystyle is a unique range of
energy management products which offer the dual advantage of being highly
stylish and technically advanced. Products include customlight - a fully
programmable lighting control which can be used to simulate dawn, offering
benefits to sufferers of Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) and welcomelight &amp;ndash; a
retrofit PIR and security timer. The range also includes KeyCard and KeyTag,
energy management isolation switches, which ensure electrical devices cannot be
left on in unoccupied rooms.

Specifically for outdoor use, Energyoutdoor units&amp;rsquo; designs benefit from
all the operational and timing features of the other ranges, but with an IP66
ingress protection rating. These units come complete with a back box
incorporating knockouts on five faces, suitable for use with an Elkay M20 cable
glands or an Adaptalok flexible conduit system.

Utilising of a mixture of Elkay&amp;rsquo;s remote, master and slave units enables
complete control of lighting systems from multiple locations such as entrance
halls, corridors and stairwells and on external lighting systems, allowing a
combination of each activation function: PIR, Push or Touch.

So confident is Elkay that the new range will provide real energy savings,
that they are also launching the carboncalc, a unique hand-held device which
allows the user to calculate the current energy consumption of a room and then
estimate the savings that can be achieved by installing Elkay energy management
products.

The user inputs the answers to a series of simple questions into the
hand-held device. The carboncalc then calculates the annual energy bill and
associated carbon dioxide emissions for that room. By aggregating data from each
room, total values for an entire building can be quickly and easily calculated.

Duncan McKinlay added, &amp;ldquo;With a number of Government initiatives being
introduced both now and in the future to encourage businesses to use fossil
fuels more effectively and reduce emissions of greenhouse gases, the need to act
to reduce energy usage and carbon emissions is essential. Elkay, with the
introduction of the energy management range, aims to provide that solution.&amp;rdquo;

		<title>Making a safe electrical connection in the garden with Aqua-safe</title>
		<description>

The increasing
requirement to provide safe, electrical connections in the garden and around
the home can easily be met by Aqua-safe connectors from Elkay Electrical.

Today, the requirement covers a great range of products, including lighting, garden heaters, pumps for water features, all the way up to hot tubs and swimming pools. Whether the need is for 240 volt AV or 12 volt DC supply, Aqua-safe has either in-line or bulkhead connectors to suit individual installations. Aqua-safe connectors are ideal where power has to be carried safely outside through wet areas or where the connector is exposed to adverse weather conditions. In use, the connector is extremely convenient when used to supply power to devices such as garden heaters, water pumps, lighting, and indeed any device requiring electrical power.

When the device needs servicing or if it has to be brought indoors during the winter months it is simply unplugged from the connector. The exposed connector housing can be effectively sealed using the appropriate dedicated sealing cap, sealing it from any water or dirt. Typically fitted to water pumps they allow the ease of removal and maintenance of water pumps with a simple yet effective connection. In lighting installations, both above and below water, the connectors maintain system integrity. An active latch mechanism accesses the inner connectors for quicker wiring and a highly reliable click latch system replaces the conventional approach of screwing two halves together. This not only makes assembly quicker, cutting down on &amp;lsquo;on the job&amp;rsquo; time, but the &amp;lsquo;O&amp;rsquo; ring seal makes the system waterproof to a depth of 20metres.
