ELKAY ENERGY MANAGEMENT PRIZES IN SUPPORT OF NATIONAL E-DAY
Elkay Electrical is offering an incentive in its support for national Energy Saving Day (E-day). Starting at 6pm on Wednesday 27th February, E-Day encourages consumers to “Leave It Off” by turning off any unnecessary household items and ensuring others are not left on standby.
Elkay, who recently launched a new and innovative range of energy saving timers and switches, have offered over £100 worth of products from their new energymanagement range in support of the initiative.
The Elkay range of switches, timers and detectors has been designed to make significant savings on energy costs and deliver increased functionality. It comprises three product categories: energysense - a highly cost effective range of energy saving timers and sensors, energystyle - a contemporary range of intelligent timers, sensors and fully programmable lighting controls and energyoutdoor – a range of timer controls and sensors specifically adapted for exterior requirements.
All boast the ability to be installed in existing buildings as a retrofit item or be incorporated into new build schemes, providing a fast track route to substantial reductions in energy bills and carbon emissions.
The key message of both the E-Day initiative and the Elkay energymanagement range is that small energy saving measures can play a potentially large part in tackling climate change.
During the day, consumers will be encouraged to log on to the E-Day website at www.e-day.org.uk which will be updated on a minute-by-minute basis, to monitor the results of their cumulative actions on national electricity demand.
Commenting about the involvement of Elkay in E-Day, Paul Gretton, Group Product Manager explains “E-Day represents everything that we believe the Elkay range stands for. Our new energymanagement product range is about small changes within your home or commercial environment adding up to significant savings both in energy and monetary terms. This is backed up by the Carbon Trust who calculate that £1.1billion of energy is needlessly wasted when office equipment, lighting and air conditioning is left on.”
He continues, “We are really pleased to be involved with this worthwhile initiative and would encourage everyone to do what they can and measure their impact collectively during this one day”.
